Despite a notice from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, opposition leaders gathered for the second consecutive day near Parliament gates, continuing their protest over allegations against the Adani Group. Leaders from Congress, AAP, RJD, Shiv Sena (UBT), DMK, and Left parties were seen holding banners that read “Modi-Adani are one” demanding a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) investigation. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress stayed away from the demonstration.

The protest came despite a warning from the Secretariat, which urged MPs to avoid demonstrations near Parliament gates, citing potential disruptions to security and movement. Opposition leaders, however, remained undeterred, using the Makar Dwar entrance as the focal point of their agitation.
Rahul Gandhi, who has been vocal in his criticism of the Adani Group, was notably absent from the protest as he was traveling to Uttar Pradesh’s violence-hit Sambhal district with a Congress delegation to assess the situation on the ground.
The opposition’s demands intensified after U.S. prosecutors accused Gautam Adani and other officials of bribery and fraud. Congress leaders have argued that these allegations strengthen their call for a JPC probe into what they describe as a series of financial irregularities involving the industrialist’s conglomerate. Rahul Gandhi has even called for Gautam Adani’s immediate arrest.
Meanwhile, the Adani Group has strongly refuted all charges, dismissing the accusations as “baseless.”
