NLD and BSP Team Up for the Haryana Assembly Elections

Mayawati’s BSP and Chautala’s INLD Form Strategic Partnership for Upcoming Elections

The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) secretary general, Abhay Singh Chautala, declared on Thursday that the party would join forces with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to run in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Consolidating their voter base and increasing their chances of winning an election are the goals of this strategic alliance. (Read more: PM Modi Official Tour To Austria And Russia Begins)

On July 6, Chautala and Bahujan Samaj Party national coordinator Akash Anand worked out the details of the seat-sharing plan in great detail. The BSP is going to run for 37 of the 90 Assembly seats, while the INLD will put forward candidates for the other seats. Chautala would be the Chief Minister if the alliance won the election, according to Anand, who was just appointed again as Mayawati’s replacement and the national coordinator for the party.
