The vibrant ‘Rajasthan Utsav 2025,’ a nine-day celebration showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, has begun at Bikaner House in New Delhi. Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, will formally inaugurate the festival on Wednesday.
According to Additional Residential Commissioner, Mrs. Anju Omprakash, this annual event is organized to commemorate Rajasthan Foundation Day and will continue from March 25 to April 2. The festival features a Rajivika Craft Fair and Food Festival, allowing visitors to experience the essence of Rajasthan through traditional crafts and cuisine.
Exciting Competitions in Sports & Culinary Arts
Considering the enthusiasm and interest shown by visitors last year, this year’s festival will include painting, mehndi, and golgappa eating competitions, along with traditional sports events. Winners in these contests will be recognized and awarded consolation prizes.
Enchanting Cultural Evening with Folk Performances
Chhatarpal Yadav, Assistant Director of the Rajasthan Tourist Welcome Center, shared that on Wednesday evening, the Rajasthan Tourism Department will host a special cultural evening featuring folk artists from different regions of the state.
The event will begin with a Ganesh Vandana, followed by Mayur Nritya (Peacock Dance) and the famous Phoolon Ki Holi, performed by Naveen Sharma from Bharatpur. Additionally, Awadhesh Kumar, also from Bharatpur, will showcase the traditional Charkula Dance.
Musical performances will include Bhapang Vadan by Ghaffaruddin Mewati from Deeg and Mashan Vadan by Arjun Singh Julia from Suratgarh. Delhi-based Aneesuddin and his troupe will mesmerize the audience with the Chari Dance, while Kalpana Chauhan will present Rajasthan’s renowned Ghoomar Dance.
Handicrafts and Traditional Art on Display
The Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajivika) will exhibit and sell handcrafted products that reflect Rajasthan’s cultural and artistic legacy. This will provide visitors with an opportunity to take home a piece of the state’s exquisite craftsmanship.
With a diverse lineup of cultural performances, traditional sports, culinary delights, and handicraft exhibitions, Rajasthan Utsav 2025 promises an immersive experience of the state’s rich heritage.
