Delhi Metro’s Rajiv Chowk Station will remain open until service ends tonight, December 31, 2024, after earlier plans to shut down operations by 8 PM. Following revised orders from the Delhi Police, which asked the Delhi Metro to extend its service till midnight.
It will not, however, be business as usual. While remaining gates remain open at Rajiv Chowk Station, Gates 5 and 6 are operationally closed for the night. This is intended to ensure that while two gates close for the night, the station remains operational for those traveling late.

Passengers will still be able to buy QR tickets to the last train. This comes in the wake of anticipated massive crowds expected at Rajiv Chowk, as most commuters will leave at the last hour to celebrate New Year at the heart of the city.
With an air of festivities filling the air and Metro being the most used mode of transportation, commuters need to plan accordingly, especially if headed toward popular destinations. Whether you’re racing to a party or returning home after partying all night, Rajiv Chowk will remain accessible until the very end of metro services, just with a couple of key gates variously deferred.
