Mohammed Shami Denounces Fake News and Memes About Him and Sania Mirza, Calls for Accountability and Thoughtfulness on Social Media

The fast bowler for the Indian cricket team, Mohammed Shami, has finally responded to the reports that he and tennis player Sania Mirza were dating. With Photoshopped photos appearing online, several social media posts have conjectured that Shami and Sania are set to tie the knot. When Shami was questioned about these claims recently in an online conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, he expressed his severe disapproval of the people spreading such untrue information.
While such memes could be entertaining, Shami advised people to stop disseminating lies on social media, highlighting the potential risks associated with them. He stated, “I urge everyone to use social media responsibly and avoid spreading such baseless rumors.”

“It is strange and done on purpose for cheap amusement. When your phone opens and your picture appears all over the place, what can you do? However, I do want to make one point clear: nobody should be forced into this. Memes, in my opinion, are lighthearted, but they touch on real-life situations. Thus, in making memes, exercise great consideration. In the modern world, you may believe you may say anything if your page is not verified, your address is unknown, and you are not well-known.”
“However, what steps are available? Those memes are what I see when I open my phone. Memes are meant to be humorous, but if they touch on someone’s life, you should consider sharing them carefully. These individuals share content from unreliable sources and can say anything they want.”

One last thing, though, is that if you have the guts to say all of these things from a verified page, I will reply. It’s simple to undermine other people. “If you strive for success, show kindness to others, and work on improving yourself, I will think well of you,” Shami continued.
