Jaher Sayyed, a 24-year-old man from Thane, was arrested in connection with the tragic incident where a dog fell from a fifth-floor building, leading to the death of a three-year-old girl.

On August 6, 2024, a three-year-old girl was injured by his dog, which had fallen from the fifth floor of a building in Thane. The event resulted in the arrest of Jaher Sayyed, a 24-year-old man. After being hurried to a hospital, the girl, who was on the street below, passed away from her wounds.
An official complaint was filed two days after the incident. The dog, chained on the terrace, apparently tried to break free and fell, according to the police report.

Leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Jitendra Awhad, has countered that the dog was thrown from the building on purpose and that the family of the young girl was threatened in order to keep them from reporting the incident.
The girl’s family submitted the complaint at the police station with Awhad accompanying them, which led to requests for the addition of further suspects to the FIR. The authorities are still withholding the identities of these other suspects.
