Nokia global executive outlines future industry demands at MERI Delhi guest lecture

New Delhi: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Management Education & Research Institute (MERI), Delhi, recently organized a guest lecture on “Industry Expectations”. The session featured Mr. Amit Goel, Head of Radio Software Product Management at Nokia Global, as the keynote speaker. The lecture provided students with crucial insights into the evolving landscape of technology and telecommunications.
Mr. Goel, an accomplished leader in telecom innovation, delivered a highly engaging session focused on the industry’s changing demands over the next two years. He emphasized key competencies such as digital proficiency, data-driven decision-making, global communication skills, innovation, adaptability, and role-specific technical capabilities. He also shed light on industry trends such as 5G technology, AI integration, and the growing importance of agile and cross-functional skillsets.

More than 80 students from the MBA and BBA programs participated in the session, who gained valuable knowledge about global industry dynamics and the shifting role of software in telecom operations. Mr. Goel underscored the value of continuous learning, hands-on experience, and the need for strong communication and problem-solving abilities. His interaction with students, who posed career-oriented questions, added significant practical value to the event.

The session was graced by senior academic leaders, including Hon’ble Prof. Dr. Deepshikha Kalra, Prof. Rakesh Khurana (Advisor, MERI), and Prof. Devendra Bahadur, along with course coordinators. They also shared their insights, reinforcing the session’s objectives and encouraging students to align their learning with real-world industry expectations.
