A condition of high alert has been announced along the Indo-Bangladesh border in response to growing security concerns brought on by the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh. In order to counter possible threats and maintain peace along the international boundary, the Border Security Force’s (BSF) North Bengal Frontier has strengthened security measures.
All commanders have been advised to maintain strict preparedness and vigilance as part of these increased security measures. In order to address any unforeseen circumstances, the BSF has established quick response teams, deployed more staff, and required a constant 24×7 surveillance program. The 4,096-kilometer international border between Bangladesh and India is a crucial area of concern.The North Bengal Frontier covers 936.415 kilometers across five districts of West Bengal, from Dakshin Dinajpur to Cooch Behar.

All eighteen BSF battalions that are currently on high alert have been mobilized by the North Bengal Frontier, spanning four sectors. Along with increased staffing at border outposts (BOPs), this increased preparedness also entails more intense monitoring at Land Custom Stations (LCS). To ensure efficient border management and the identification of any possible threats, surveillance equipment is being fully employed.
