Gambhir’s Heartfelt Goodbye To Kolkata Knight Riders: Know Here

In an emotional farewell video, Gambhir bids the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team and supporters farewell as he begins his adventure as the new head coach of Team India.

The Indian national cricket team has named former cricketer Gautam Gambhir as its new coach, succeeding Rahul Dravid, following the team’s recent victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. Gambhir—who was also the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2024 Indian Premier League—posted a heartfelt video on social media bidding the squad farewell due to his new position with squad India.

Since 2011, Gautam Gambhir has been an integral part of the KKR squad. During his career, he led the squad to two IPL titles as a player and a third in 2024 as a mentor. Gautam Gambhir thanks KKR supporters on social media as he prepares to travel with Team India for the next series against Sri Lanka.

On Tuesday, Gambhir posted the video on social media with the caption: “Come Kolkata, let’s build some new legacies @iamsrk @kkriders @indiancricketteam.” Dedicated to all Kolkata and KKR fans… Special appreciation to the Cricket Association of Bengal (@cabcricket) and Kolkata Knight Riders.”

Gambhir expresses his emotional connection to KKR supporters in the video. He discusses sharing their pleasures, pains, successes, and disappointments, emphasizing that he is one of them.

“I laugh when you laugh, I cry when you cry, I win when you win, I lose when you lose, I dream when you dream, and I succeed when you achieve. Kolkata, I am you; I am simply one of you. I understand your pain and your struggles. Rejections have broken me, but just like you, I wake up every day with hope. I may feel defeated, but I haven’t given up yet. In the video, Gambhir said, “They tell me to be popular, I tell them to be a the winner, I am you Kolkata, I am simply one of you.”

The Indian team’s head coach expressed in the video, “As we begin this new chapter, we vow to never walk alone. We’ll stand side by side, holding hands. We remain committed to the tricolor and our country, India.”
