#Bomb Threat Reported at Delhi’s IGI Airport
Delhi , 27/02/2024.
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) was on high alert today after receiving a bomb threat call early in the morning. However, upon thorough investigation, authorities determined the call to be a hoax. The call, received at approximately 5:15 am, specifically mentioned a flight from Delhi to Kolkata scheduled to depart from IGI Airport. Promptly, standard security protocols were followed, and an inquiry was conducted, confirming the falsity of the threat.
This incident follows a similar threat received by Delhi Airport in late January. During that instance, a bomb threat was directed towards a flight from Darbhanga to Delhi. The flight landed safely at 6:04 pm, and all passengers were disembarked and screened extensively.
At 5:50 pm on the same day, IGI Airport declared a full emergency upon receiving another bomb threat call concerning a Spice Jet flight originating from Darbhanga. Similar safety procedures were followed, and the aircraft was isolated for thorough inspection upon landing at 6:04 pm.
After thorough investigation, authorities confirmed that both threat calls were false alarms. Nevertheless, stringent safety measures were implemented to ensure the safety and security of all passengers.
Subsequently, a 20-year-old individual named Kushagra Aggarwal, residing in Janakpuri, west Delhi, was apprehended for allegedly making the false bomb threats with the intention of gaining publicity.
