Delhi doc found dead in home in Greater Noida; missing tenants suspected

A 50-year-old doctor from Delhi was found murdered at his home located in Kulesara village of Greater Noida, police officers said on Sunday. The suspicion revolves around two tenants who had been living in the house and now cannot be found.

Noida police said that the victim’s name was Dr. Dinesh Gaur, who resided in Kondli, Delhi. According to officials, the doctor would occasionally visit his house in Sanjay Vihar Colony that is located in Kulesara village of Greater Noida.

Speaking on the case, DCP Central Noida Shakti Mohan Awasthy stated that Dr. Gaur visited his Greater Noida residence several days before he was reportedly murdered with the hammer.

The police were informed of the incident through a police response vehicle at the Ecotech-3 police station on Sunday around 8:30 p.m. On their arrival, the officers, along with the forensic team, recovered his body and sent it for a postmortem examination, the police stated.

Missing Tenants, Investigation Initiated

In the investigation, the police found that a man and a woman had taken the apartment on a lease on January 25 but who have since gone missing. “Cognizance of this is taken under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” DCP Awasthy said.
