Mihir Shah, son of a Shiv Sena politician, has been arrested and placed in police custody until July 16 for allegedly causing a fatal hit-and-run in Mumbai. The incident resulted in the death of a woman and public outrage due to Shah’s political connections.

Mihir Shah, the son of a Shiv Sena politician, has been arrested and placed in police custody until July 16 for allegedly driving his BMW into a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of a woman. The Mumbai Police apprehended Shah on Tuesday after he had been on the run.
The incident happened in Mumbai’s Worli area early on Sunday morning. The 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa was on her two-wheeler when Shah’s car apparently crashed into the rear of it. . Pradeep Nakhwa, her husband, was also injured in the crash but he survived.

According to sources, the police are investigating who might have helped Shah destroy evidence after the hit-and-run incident.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has promised strict action against those responsible and announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the victim’s family. The Chief Minister’s response came amid public outrage due to Mihir Shah’s connection to Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah.
In connection with his son’s hit-and-run case, Shinde-led Shiv Sena deputy leader from Palghar Rajesh Shah, was also taken into custody on Sunday.
