New Delhi: 12th August 2024
On the 12th foundation day of the Association for the Blind Persons, a grand cultural event was organized at the hostel in Sant Nagar, Burari in Delhi which is operated for visually impaired students by the association. During the event, the students mesmerized the audience with their singing, dancing, and speeches. Witnessing their extraordinary talents, one could hardly believe that these students are visually impaired.
The chief guests at the event, senior journalist Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi and Karawal Nagar Congress Party District President Adesh Bhardwaj, praised the students’ talents and the efforts of the organization. A commemorative publication was also released on the occasion of the foundation day.
The association, which is based in Bhagat Colony, Sant Nagar, Burari, is currently facing a number of financial issues. However, some prominent members of the community who attended the event have come forward to show their support for the organization. The director, Rajendra Yadav, who is differently-abled himself, deeply understands the struggles faced by people with disabilities. On August 11, 2024, he founded the association with this empathy and vision. Approximately 20 to 30 female students currently reside in the hostel, and the organization is doing everything making every effort to help these students become self-reliant.
This group of society is known as “divyang” (divine-bodied) because they experience challenges that are far greater than those of the average individual. As a result, they are frequently blessed with some divine talents. Their performances at the event were a testament to this divine spark within them. It was truly remarkable to witness how these individuals, who cannot see the world with their eyes, perceive and express it through the eyes of their soul. During the celebrations of India’s Independence Day and the Association for the Blind Persons’ 12th Foundation Day, you will be surprised by the talents of the visually impaired students.
Society must recognize and extend its support to such deserving individuals, helping to create a more inclusive and compassionate world where everyone has the chance to shine.
