The event to take place on the occasion of Atal Ji’s birthday on December 25th
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to be the Chief Guest for the event
New Delhi, December 18, 2023:
On the occasion of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday on December 25th, Atal Foundation, in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Museum in New Delhi, will host the Atal Gaurav Samman for the third time and, for the first time, the International Atal Award. This year, out of applications received from various individuals across the country, 35 have been selected for the Atal Gaurav Samman, and for the International Award, 11 candidates from different countries have been chosen. As the chief guest for this occasion, Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal will be present. The guest of honour for the event includes Dr. Mahesh Sharma, MP, Lok Sabha and former Union Tourism Minister, National Secretary of the BJP Shri Dushyant Gautam and Shri Vinod Tawde, Chairman of Sudarshan TV Suresh Chavhanke, Shri Shyam Jaju, senior BJP Leader and renowned astrologer Shri Rajesh Ojha.
It is announced that every year, a ceremony is organized by the Atal Foundation in honor of Atal Ji’s life story. During this event, individuals who have excelled in their work following the path of Atal Ji are honored with the Atal Gaurav Samman. This year, the International Atal Award is also being introduced, featuring selections from applications received from various countries. The committee for the selection process, headed by the Chairperson of the Atal Foundation, Mrs. Aparna Singh, includes Mr. Sukant Saha as the committee chairman, Vice Chairman Ramesh Bhutada, Secretary Priyadarshini, Sandeep Lal, and Neilpatravar. This committee, formed by Mrs. Aparna Singh, has played a crucial role in selecting deserving individuals from the received applications. Among the 11 international awardees chosen this year, 4 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) will also be honored with the International Atal Award.
This event is unique in itself, and all its entries are free of charge. The Atal Foundation is actively engaged in service activities across all 27 states and union territories of India. The national team, including prominent figures such as Babu Mansuri Amroha, Babli Hapud Tyagi, Pradeep Chaudhary, and others, has made noteworthy contributions. The Atal Foundation operates from Jammu and Kashmir to Kerala, and from Sikkim to Gujarat. It diligently works along the path outlined by the venerable Vajpayee Ji, spreading awareness of government policies and providing services to individuals even in the remotest corners of the country.
