Today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gave a major relief to the consumers of the Delhi government by allowing all tenants under the free electricity and water plan of the AAP. In an announcement today, Kejriwal said nobody would be exempted from government’s initiative free electricity and free water.
Kejriwal said it would be a much-needed relief for thousands of tenants in Delhi, who were thus far excluded from the scheme. He assured that this move of the government would have the ultimate aim of making sure all Delhi residents, house owners or tenants, received essential public services without the added burden of costs.
The public has given mixed reactions to the announcement. Many of the tenants have welcomed the move, while others have complained that it will face several challenges while being implemented, including logistical and financial issues. The Delhi government is planning to implement changes soon and also has launched an outreach program so that all eligible tenants get registered for the benefit.
