The next Mac Mini will be the smallest model ever made by Apple and the first significant redesign since 2010.

A new Mac Mini, scheduled for delivery in October 2024, is expected to completely revamp Apple’s desktop portfolio. AI-enhanced M4 processor, a major technological and design breakthrough, will be available in this revised model.
This will be the tiniest Mac Mini ever made, with a significant redesign not seen since 2010, according to information gleaned from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Expected to be noticeably smaller than its predecessors, the new Mac Mini is expected to have a footprint similar to that of the Apple TV streaming gadget, which is roughly 3.7 inches. In order to provide enough room for the cutting-edge M4 chip and its AI capabilities, it will be somewhat taller than the existing 1.4-inch high variant even though it will be smaller.
Apple has made a historic decision by bringing the M4 chipset to all Mac models, which will be the first time that all Macs use the same chip version. The enhanced AI capabilities of this new chip promise a more potent and effective user experience.
Anticipated to be “an iPad Pro in a small box,” the Mac Mini will leverage the efficiency of Apple’s in-house silicon and have an aluminium casing. Even though the next Mac Mini may have lower production costs than the current model, which starts at $599, it is uncertain if Apple would change the price.
Beyond the Mac Mini, Apple has other changes planned for its 2024 hardware refresh cycle. Following its launch, the business intends to sell iMacs and MacBook Pros with M4 chip technology. Redesigned Mac Pro and Mac Studio models are predicted by mid-2025, while MacBook Airs are anticipated in the spring.
This noteworthy breakthrough heightens the excitement for Apple’s upcoming 2024 product portfolio, which also promises to contain the eagerly anticipated iOS 18 and iPhone 16 series. It will be fascinating to observe whether the new Mac Mini provides customers in India with a more cost-effective choice, as Apple products are usually positioned at a premium there.
